Air Force Prayer update-June 29th, 2007

Well here it is, nearly 2 weeks after my Special Duty I applied for closed out and I still have no idea whether or not I was selected for it. This leads to an obvious question in my mind if it was God's will for me to be chosen. I hope I will hear something next week!

I read a story today on a Pave-Low Helicopter member who was struck by an RPG while on a mission in Iraq in 2004. It was so bad that vision initially in his eye was 20/400. Through much effort, dedication and pain he has worked back to continue to be a flier in the Flight Attendent career field. What a wonderful story of where faith and prayer can lead to!

There are also 2 airmen in some serious trouble in my unit, one is facing almost certain discharge and the other could be facing some serious disciplinary action. I had been helping this airmen to possibly retrain and had invested so much in that process for him...this is when being a Christian is really difficult.

I pray this weekend for those Air Force members who will be deployed from not only McChord AFB but around the world as they defend our independence this coming 4th of July. May we never forget those who came before us or fail to support those currently in forward locations putting their lives on the line to defend our great nation!

Air Force Thoughts-Things to pray about: June 28th, 2007

The Air Force has many members directly in harms way in the wars in Iraq, Afghanistan and across the world. Many people do not realize our Security Forces members are riding right alongside the Army and Marine Corps through Iraq and on missions in Afghanistan. These individuals are going to come home and need some real assistance to deal with all they have experienced. It is my prayer that they will be safe there, come home safe, and be able to readjust to their normal Air Force duties, as well as with their family again.

- I pray for our Air Force Leaders, that they will be given the direction they need to lead our Air Force in the coming trials
- I pray for those affected by the recent Force Shaping intiatives, that God will guide them as they must transition into either civilian life or the Guard/Reserves
- And finally, I pray for our new airmen as they are coming into our great Air Force, that God will provide them guidance and leadership as they stand beside each other in defending our great nation.

May God add a special blessing on our Air Force today!

Welcome to the Air Force Blog!

Hello! This blog is my attempt to reach out to those Air Force members who have prayer needs and requests. A lot has changed over the 60 year history of the Air Force, but members needs prayer has definitely been a constant. This is often frowned upon when wearing the uniform (due to the seperation of church and state) so I wanted to start this blog to give others an opportunity to share their requests.

I would also love to see this blog double as a praise blog as well, what great things have happened to you in your Air Force career? I would love to hear your stories!

It's my hope that through people's request for prayer and member's praises, that I can strengthen the greatest Air Force in the world, one I am proud to serve!

I look forward to praying for you and sharing in your praises!
